Levi’s Bets on Loose Fit Collection for Spring/Summer 2024

One of the first brands during the pandemic to report on consumers’ shift to looser fits, Levi’s now has an extensive line up of roomy options.

“Adopted by all body types and genders, there’s no denying that looser fits have once again become a style staple,” the brand stated.

Taking inspiration from ’90s and 2000s silhouettes and using fibers suitable for warmer weather, the brand has revamped its relaxed styles for Spring/Summer 2024.

Options for women include the Baggy Dad, a relaxed jean with an “easy top block” and loose straight leg. The wider Baggy Dad Wide Leg features a pleated leg in lightweight 10 oz. denim. The Featherweight Baggy Dad features the lightest expression of lightweight denim, offered in both shorts and skirts.

Functional and stylish, the women’s Baggy Cargo features utility pocket details for a workwear vibe. For a non-denim option for warmer weather, the brand’s loose offerings also include the lightweight Pleated Trouser Short, a tailored and refined loose short.

Levi’s offers the 568 Stay Loose and the 468 Loose Short for men’s. For the 568 Stay Loose, the brand set out to recreate a vintage, thrifted look with 14 oz. 100 percent cotton denim. The jean sits at the waist and remains loose throughout. For a lighter and more relaxed style, the 568 Stay Loose is also offered with new lightweight cotton/linen denim.

The men’s 468 Loose Short sits at the waist, loose through the seat and thigh, and hits just above the knee.

The Loose Fit family is available now on Levi’s website, app and select stores.

In the company’s Q4 earnings call last month, Levi’s president and CEO Michelle Gass hinted that more loose fits were coming from the denim giant. She said the Loose Fit represented half of the brand’s women’s business and is creating opportunities for more fashion fits like XL, which she said is one to watch in 2024.
