Lettuce Check: More Than 11,000 Pounds of Romaine Recalled

Hold off on making your summer salad—there's been a big lettuce recall.

The G.O. Corporation of Minneapolis is recalling 11,500 pounds of romaine lettuce potentially contaminated with deer feces, which can transmit harmful bacteria like Salmonella, Giardia, and E.coli.

The lettuce recall was initiated by the FDA on June 16, and is still in the process, so there's a chance that you have purchased recalled lettuce if you live in the affected distribution states: Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

If you're concerned about whether you've bought contaminated leafy greens, check your fridge for:

This is the second time romaine lettuce has been recalled in Minnesota in recent years. In April 2022, The Minnesota Department of Agriculture warned consumers to not eat a certain brand after a parasite was found during sample testing.

Additionally, salad greens aren't the only thing to worry about. Thousands of pounds of hot dogs were also recently recalled just before July 4th.
