Let's Celebrate! Teen Vogue Commencement 2020

The Teen Vogue Commencement is presented by Adobe.

Teen Vogue will celebrate classes of 2020 across the country with a national Teen Vogue Commencement. Set to take place on May 31, high school and college students across the country will be invited to tune in to a Teen Vogue-hosted livestream to watch inspiring and uplifting commencement addresses from some of our favorite celebrities and noteworthy figures including Stacey Abrams, Jameela Jamil, Aly Raisman, Tracee Ellis Ross, Noor Tagouri, Anna Wintour, and more.

Of course, the celebration would not be complete without hearing from the Class of 2020! We’re teaming with TED in a search for graduating high school and college students to represent their peers in the Teen Vogue Commencement program.

Were you this year’s class valedictorian? Were you prepping to speak at your school’s commencement this year? If you are a graduating high school or college senior and have inspiring words to share with your fellow graduates, we’d like to hear from you! Up to ten finalists will be featured across Teen Vogue platforms, and two lucky students will be selected to receive expert coaching from the TED team and deliver their two-minute speeches as part of the live stream event on May 31.

Submissions are open now. Please be sure to review the following guidelines before you record your submission.

Adjust the settings on your phone:

  • Go to your Settings → Camera → Formats and select “Most Compatible”

  • Go to your Settings → Camera → Record Video and select “1080” or “4k” and 30 fps

Filming:

  • Speeches should be no longer than two (2) minutes in length.

  • Choose a spot to film that is quiet and try to face a natural light source (like a window) for the best lighting.

  • Avoid showing any well known images, posters, artwork, photographs, logos, etc.

  • Mount (or hold) your phone horizontally and leave space above your head and on both your left and right within the phone frame. Look directly into the camera lens when recording or speaking.

Plus, in collaboration with creativity partner Adobe, we will reimagine the Class of 2020 yearbook, building the biggest ever digital-first yearbook as part of the Teen Vogue Commencement celebration. Details to come on how you can share your stories and memories as a part of the unstoppable class of 2020.

Following the brand's Virtual Prom, which will be held on May 16, the Teen Vogue Commencement is the second of two Teen Vogue experiences aimed at bringing joy and normalcy to students missing out on key milestones this year.

The Teen Vogue Commencement is presented by Adobe. Other partners supporting the event include 3 Musketeers and Shutterfly.
