Leonardo Fioravanti Surfed Firing Teahupo’o for 2 Hours Alone

It’s pretty rare to get a session by yourself anywhere in the world these days. When the waves are good — or even when they’re not — chances are pretty good that, in most places, you won’t be alone.

But when Leonardo Fioravanti arrived at the Teahupo’o lineup, something strange was happening: not only were the waves absolutely firing, but he was the only one there.

For two straight hours, Fioravanti surfed wave after wave after wave. It’s one of the best waves in the world, and the World Surf League event is just around the corner, so an empty lineup was unexpected, to say the least.

But when life gives you a gift like that, you don’t ask questions. You paddle out.

“Teahupo’o is one of the best waves in the world and I was lucky enough to surf it for more than two hours ALONE,” he wrote. “Moments like this only happen a few times in your life and I could feel something special was happening. Definitely a session I’ll remember for the rest of my life!”
