Deadline has reported that Paul Thomas Anderson's next film will be a Warner Bros production starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Regina Hall.

The film is currently untitled, and further details about the plot are firmly under wraps, but production is set to commence this year in California.

Sara Murphy and Adam Somner, who worked with PTA on his last film, Licorice Pizza, will produce with Anderson writing, directing and producing.

Warner Bros Picture Group co-chairs/CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy also worked on Licorice Pizza while they ran MGM and will now collaborate with PTA on this new production.

De Luca and PTA have a long working relationship, dating back to PTA's 1997 film Boogie Nights, which De Luca co-executive produced.

This new film is said to take place in a contemporary setting and will be the eleven-time Academy Award-nominee's most commercial film yet, with a budget to match.
