Legendary Snowboarder Kazu Gets Daughter on the Slopes

Like father like daughter! Kazuhiro Kokubo just posted a video of his daughter shredding some skis down a neighborhood slope. Now we just have to get her down from two planks to one. She is so cute and it is so great to see her getting out there in the snow!

Starting his snowboarding journey at the age of 4, Kazu has evolved into one of the most renowned and respected professional snowboarders in the sport's history. Widely embraced in both Japan and internationally, Kazu is synonymous with dynamic snowboarding and extraordinary style. Since his competitive debut, he has consistently graced the podium at various prestigious events, including the X Games, European Opens, New Zealand Opens, Japan Opens, US Opens, and numerous FIS World Cup competitions.

A month after his second Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, Kazu etched his name into the annals of snowboarding history. In 2010 and 2011, he secured back-to-back US Open victories, triumphing over his rival and reigning champion, Shaun White. During this period, Kazu achieved another milestone, garnering unprecedented exposure. He adorned the covers of virtually every snowboarding magazine worldwide, featured in over 140 pages of editorial content and full-length features, with 135,800 web features and photos. Additionally, two full-length network documentaries showcased his journey, establishing Kazu as the most prominently featured snowboarder globally.

While continually clinching championships, Kazu also embarks on adventures, conquering the world's most prominent mountains alongside renowned snowboarding photographers and filmmakers. In his scarce free time, he tends to his one-acre garden with his wife Tomoe and dedicates himself to volunteering with animal rescue groups in Japan, supporting them with a portion of the proceeds from his signature products. Furthermore, Kazu is a vocal critic of the hazards associated with nuclear energy, particularly in and around his home country of Japan.
