Legendary Action Sports Media Company Worked On A Snowboard Film Last Winter. And It Looks Awesome.

Teton Gravity Research, of ski movie production fame, is dipping its toes into something a little different this fall: a snowboard film.

The film in question is titled Flying High Again and will feature a stacked roster of talented professional snowboarders.

I, for one, am excited to check out TGR's take on the snowboarding scene. They've churned out solid ski movies for decades now, so why not give single-planking a try?

The decision to pursue another snowboarding film -- TGR, while commonly thought of as a skiing-focused brand, has already created several snowboard movies -- reflects the company's continued expansion across disciplines in the actions sports space. For instance, TGR recently released Esperanto, a mountain bike film.

Thus, this isn't just a crew of ski-focused filmmakers dropping into snowboarding and pretending they know what's up. To produce Flying High Again, TGR teamed up with Mike Hatchett, legendary snowboard film director and founder of Standard Films.

"The original goal was to make the best snowboard film we could and really focus on the athletes being the stars," Hatchett wrote in a TGR press release shared with Powder this morning. "We wanted to make a rider-based movie and let the athletes do the talking. It is a mix of freestyle and big-mountain riding."

The film will feature a greatest-hits tour of North American locales, including Idaho, California, Wyoming, and Utah.

The cast is similarly rockin', featuring Bode Merrill, John Jackson, Danny Davis, Elena Hight, Jason Robinson, Dusty Hendrickson, Antti Autii, Brandon Davis, Sean Fitzsimons, and Jeremy Jones, among several others.
