A Biloxi restaurant known for its gumbo, sunroom dining and rich history was named one of the 50 most beautiful restaurants in the U.S. by People Magazine.
Located on Highway 90 just across the street from the Hard Rock and Beau Rivage casinos, Mary Mahoney’s is a classic French spot beloved by locals, tourists and celebrities that’s been open for decades and survived Hurricane Katrina.
Author John Grisham loves the gumbo, and the walls are lined with photos of other notable guests including Usher, Denzel Washington, Robin Roberts, and Hank Williams Jr.
The steaks, seafood and oysters shine at Mary Mahoney’s, which has a beautiful courtyard for sipping cocktails. One of the dining rooms is lined by glass windows that overlooks downtown Biloxi.
You’ll always find your server in a green blazer, and owner Bobby Mahoney will most likely come around and tell you a joke or two while you enjoy your meal.
Mary Mahoney’s was the restaurant chosen to represent Mississippi on the People Magazine List. Chemin à la Mer, a French-Creole restaurant inside the Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans, was chosen for Louisiana.
