Legendary Cyclist Peter Sagan Temporarily Sidelined With Heart Issues

Legendary Tour De France sprinter and newfound mountain biker Peter Sagan announced via Instagram yesterday that he will be taking some time off the bike following a cardiac event.

Sagan stated he will be undergoing surgery soon but does not plan on being off the bike for too long. Here is his statement below.

"Hi there! While I was training on the rocky trails in Marseille, my heart hit a few bumps ♥️ Nothing to worry about, you could say that my heart needs a pit stop. I will undergo surgery next week and thanks to my friend, sports cardiologist Dr. Roberto Corsetti, I am sure I will be back in the saddle very soon.

We don't know the details of Sagan's "heart bumps" but we have reached out for comment from Sagan and will update you with any information he provides. In the meantime, we wish him a smooth surgery and recovery process.
