For the first time in 20 years, the cast of Legally Blonde got back together for a virtual reunion! What, like it’s hard? It’s all thanks to Reese Witherspoon, aka Elle Woods, who invited Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Jennifer Coolidge, Ali Larter, Holland Taylor, Jessica Cauffiel, and Alanna Ubach to join her on a Zoom call to reminisce about the iconic 2001 film.

The reunion comes just as Witherspoon is gearing up for Legally Blonde 3—which has an official release date—and it did not disappoint as it gave us all the feels to see the cast together again. It even featured a surprise guest: Matthew Davis, who played Warner Huntington III.

The Big Little Lies actress first announced the reunion via Instagram Monday, October 19th, writing, “We laughed, we cried and we may or may not have done the bend & snap for old times sake!”

Spoiler alert: They did the bend and snap, and it was glorious.

During the event, Witherspoon also revealed that the famous—and forever iconic—bend and snap scene was originally filmed as "a full musical sequence" that ended up being cut out of the movie. Coolidge added, "We filmed that for a month!" Ultimately, Witherspoon explained that it “just felt odd because there was only one musical sequence. But then, it made so much sense when they made a whole musical out of the movie."

The cast also noted that they had no idea Legally Blonde was going to be such a massive success or how much it would inspire young people all around the world for decades to come. "The thing that actually really touches my heart is that more people stop me and say, 'I went to law school because of Elle Woods,’" Witherspoon said.

"I can't tell you what it means to me to see your faces. This was my college. This is where I went to college. I didn't finish college but I finished Legally Blonde," Witherspoon told her former castmates. "We all worked together and made this movie together that has inspired so many young people. It's just such a gift... Every time people come up to me and tell me they love this movie, I give it all to you, I share it all with you all."

You can watch the full Legally Blonde reunion above, as you wait until May 2022 to see the highly anticipated sequel.
