Slam bam, shake my hand, because LeBron James is the latest wacky icon to join the truly insane cast of the free-to play platform fighter featuring Warner Bros. characters, MultiVersus. Now I’m not saying we’re gaming gods, but we did pitch LeBron James in our list of 34 characters we want in the game. (Still waiting on The Polar Express train.)

LeBron, and you’ll never guess this, uses a basketball to fight his enemies. You know, because Basketball. He joins the likes of Superman, the Iron Giant, Arya Stark, Bugs Bunny, and who the hell knows who else is left to be announced. While the Esquire Gamer Zone does have a more in-depth review of the closed beta coming to you soon, rest assured that the game is extremely fun, smooth, and fresh. Now, some fans are bummed out, because Walter White has been rumored for a while, but wasn't announced at San Diego Comic-Con along with James. I’d love for my meth-making king to come knocking and get pied by Bugs, maybe even hammered by Tom and Jerry.

Bronny arrives in MultiVersus when the open beta (where gamers can take MultiVersus for a test run) launches July 26. Get this: LeBron will bring his Adult Swim friends, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, because this game is chaotic as hell. By the sound of it, Rick and Morty won't be an Ice Climbers/Smash Bros. situation, but rather, two separate characters. The game is already filled to the brim with Rick and Morty references, so it's not a huge surprise. They'll join the adventure sometime after the open beta. Before I lose my job by delving deeper into the way MutliVersus could power up LeBron and White, I’ll see myself out. The open beta of MultiVersus hits PC, Playstation consoles, and Xbox consoles on July 26th.
