How to Learn About and Help Local Animals for National Wildlife Week

There are so many ways to help your favorite animals!

Every day is a great day to be an advocate for your local wildlife, but this week, it's especially important. April 3-9 is National Wildlife Week, and there are tons of ways you can get in on the fun. Even if you only have a few minutes to spare, the National Wildlife Federation set up an amazing website with tons of informational resources.

In addition to the thorough website, there are also tons of new shows and interviews to help you learn more about local habitats. To kick off the celebration with party animals across the globe--and to "inspire the next generation of conservationists," the National Wildlife Federation partnered up with the Mutual of Omaha to bring viewers a brand new online series titled Wild Kingdom: Protecting the Wild.

How cool is this? It isn't every day that we get to see a major company partnering up with one of the world's largest wildlife conservation groups, let alone doing something like this. This duo was also behind this year's 'Explore Nature's Playground' campaign, which includes an interactive online map of different habitat regions across the United States.

On this map, viewers can read and watch videos about some of America's native species. From black bears to condors and even sea otters, there's an animal on the list to interest just about anyone! Not only is this a great way to introduce little ones to environmental sciences, but it gives them a chance to learn something new about animals, too.

What will you learn this National Wildlife Week?
