Four Seasons Resort Hualalai wants to invite you over for a cup of coffee. A really, really special cup of coffee.

In April, the resort launched its collection of "Only at Hualalai" experiences, which the resort explains, celebrate "the local talents of Hawaii Island." One of the memorable experiences is tailor-made for coffee lovers, inviting guests to tour the Watson-Kabei Coffee Estate, where they'll learn the process of coffee farming and roasting to create the perfect cup.

"I'm honored to be partnering with Four Seasons Resort Hualalai to open up our farm to visitors from across the world," Dale Kabei, chief coffee picker at Watson-Kabei Coffee Farm, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. "I've perfected the art of coffee farming over the past almost two decades and treat it with the care you would show a family member. I'm looking forward to showcasing the rich, distinct flavors of Kona to the Resort's guests, in hopes of creating long-lasting fans for years to come."

Located in the famed coffee region of Keopu, the five-acre farm is truly a sight to behold. With stunning views of both Kona and the Pacific Ocean, the farm is just as much fun to roam around on as it is to learn about on the tour.

As for what makes the coffee so unique, that's thanks to where it grows, amongst the volcanic soil in the unique microclimate of the Keopu region, giving it a distinct flavor all its own.

As part of the experience, guests will get to attend a private tour of the estate, where if they're extra lucky they'll run into Koa, the family's oldest Samoyed dog, the namesake of their signature coffee.

Following the tour, guests will then get to taste each of the farm's roasts alongside treats made by Four Seasons Resort Hualalai's executive pastry chef Kalani Garcia. While tasting both the coffee and snacks, guests will get to hear from Kabei about the industry, the history of coffee farming on the island, and get the chance to ask all their caffeinated questions. Upon return to the Resort, guests will receive a special coffee-focused gift so they can bring the experience home with them.

The Watson-Kabei Coffee Farm Experience is bookable exclusively for guests of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, with prices starting at $1,500 per person. The experience is available on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but must be booked 72 hours in advance.
