Learn How to Make a Colorful Twig Wreath
Pops of color in the front yard can help your home stand out. Add cheery contrast with this pretty wreath craft. It's simple (seriously—you only need four materials), and it can be made in an afternoon. Plus, you can customize the wreath to fit your desired look. Try muted colors of the rainbow for a bright year-round wreath, like the one seen here. Or opt for different hues of the same shade for an ombre effect.
What You Need
Twisted twig wreath
Medium-weight yarn in multiples colors
Clear crafts glue
Hanging hook
Step 1: Prep Materials
Remove tags and packaging from the wreath and skeins of yarn. If the wreath has peeling bark, remove pieces as desired.
Step 2: Wrap the Twigs
Choose a spot on the wreath and start tightly wrapping yarn around the twig pieces. Continue wrapping until yarn covers a 4- to 5-inch section. Use small dabs of crafts glue to secure the ends of the yarn. Repeat with alternate yarn colors until you achieve the desired look. Our wreath uses six different shades of yarn, but you could use more or less.
Step 3: Hang the Wreath
Attach the wreath to the front door. Use a stick-on hook or over-the-door wreath hanger, or attach a permanent hook with a drill.
