Lea Michele Is Reportedly Pregnant and Expecting Her First Child With Husband Zandy Reich

Former Glee star Lea Michele is reportedly expecting her first child with her husband, Zandy Reich. This is exciting news for Lea and her fans, but it also ties back to Glee in an amusing way.

Remember how, in the flash-forward finale of the Ryan Murphy show, it was revealed that Lea's character Rachel Berry was pregnant in 2020? In the show, Rachel was married to Jesse St. James but acting as a surrogate for her BFFs Kurt and Blaine. While we're pretty sure Lea didn't plan her pregnancy to align with Rachel's, you have to admit that that the parallels are pretty funny.

Glee fans didn't miss a beat in spreading the news. "In Glee Rachel Berry was pregnant in 2020 bc she was Kurt & Blaine’s surrogate ... well Lea Michele is pregnant in 2020 with her first baby. Coincidence? I think not," tweeted one. "Congrats Lea Michele you're the Gleek of the week for getting pregnant at the same time as Rachel Berry," wrote another. "Lea Michele is pregnant the same year Rachel Berry was.... further proof that it’s unknown where Lea Michele starts and Rachel Berry ends," pointed out another. "Lea Michele is pregnant the same time Rachel Berry would’ve been pregnant I’m gonna need several hours to process this because Glee is REAL," tweeted a Gleek, speaking for all of us.

In another ironic twist, the finale also revealed that Rachel was to win a Tony Award in 2020. Of course, this isn't happening IRL this year as the Broadway awards ceremony, which was set to air on June 7, has been postponed in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic. "If the Tony Awards were happening in 2020 Lea Michele could of attended the Tony Awards pregnant just like Rachel Berry," wrote a Glee fan.

Sadly, we won't get to see Lea hit the red carpet and follow in her character's footsteps, but we're thrilled for her happy news with Zandy, who she married in 2019. As a source reportedly told People, “They’ve always wanted to be parents." Congratulations, you two!
