Lay’s and Smartfood Just Dropped a Limited-Edition Snack Collab We Have To Try

There are some snacks that take me straight back to childhood, among them, Lay’s potato chips and Smartfood Popcorn. Lay’s were for summer cookouts when I’d make sure I was the first to open the bag and cherry-pick a few folded-over chips, and Smartfood always seemed to find its way onto the table for slumber parties.

Naturally, when the two brands team up, I get excited. In this case, the two brands have joined forces to release Lay's Sour Cream & Onion flavored Smartfood Popcorn.

Lay’s Sour Cream & Onion Smartfood Popcorn Available Now at Sam’s Club

Lay’s and Smartfood teamed up to make the snack, which is available exclusively at Sam’s Club. If the flavor sounds familiar, it’s for good reason. Smartfood released a previous version of sour cream and onion-flavored popcorn, but it didn’t specifically call out a partnership with Lay’s.

According to the description from Sam’s Club, the snack features the Smartfood Popcorn you know and love with the Lay’s Sour Cream & Onion seasoning, and a 15.75-ounce bag costs $6.48.

This isn’t the first unique flavor from Smartfood. The brand previously teamed up with Doritos to make Smartfood Popcorn Doritos Cool Ranch, with Buffalo Wild Wings to make Parmesan-garlic flavored popcorn, and with Frank’s Red Hot for a flavored popcorn inspired by the hot sauce, among others.

As with all of these collabs, though, this flavor is here for a limited time only. On an Instagram post noting the new snack, commenters said, “I want the Cool Ranch back, but I will happily try this to encourage them to do more,” while also expressing excitement for the sour cream and onion flavor, saying, “Wonderful news, adding to shopping list.”

Given that this flavor combines two of our favorites, we think it might be smart to get a few bags.
