But there's a bit of a catch.

There are some foods that can bring you back to a moment in time just with one taste. It’s why we’re always boasting about comfort foods and the dishes that feel like home.

It’s no surprise that different regions of the U.S. have different comfort food favorites. State-by-state cuisine can be almost as diverse as different countries' menu offerings. In the South, maybe you crave shrimp and grits; in the North, maybe it’s chicken riggies; it could be a hot dish in the Midwest; and maybe classic fish tacos on the West Coast.

No matter what it is, your definition of “the best” might look slightly different than someone's across the country. It’s the same with snacks, too.

You’ve seen those maps that list each state’s favorite snack food, candy, and even fast food restaurant. We’re all guilty of clicking just to see if our neighbors have the same taste as us.

And Lay’s gets how important regionality is, which is why it's launching a new line-up of chips—the Lay’s Flavor That Hits Home. The portfolio features four fan-favorite flavor returns whose availability will vary from coast to coast.

Lay's New Flavor That Hits Home Line

The returning flavors include Lay’s BLT Sandwich in the Northeast and Atlantic regions, Lay’s Crispy Taco on the West Coast, Lay’s Fried Pickles with Ranch in the South and Midwest, and Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime & Cracked Pepper, which will be available nationally.

Each flavor is available at retailers now, while supplies last. And, don't worry, if you love one of the flavors that isn't hitting shelves near you, Lay's prepared for that. For fans who want a taste of home but don't live near home anymore, you can find the regional flavors on Snacks.com.

East Coast: Lay’s BLT Sandwich

Lay’s BLT Sandwich potato chips launched in 2012 as a way to celebrate National BLT Sandwich Month in April. The chips, of course, taste like the beloved sandwich made with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and smoky bacon. While they’ll remind you of the summertime favorite sandwich with every bite, they’re just as delicious paired with your favorite BLT.

West Coast: Lay’s Crispy Taco

Lay’s Crispy Taco chips were introduced as a winner of its “Do Us a Flavor” competition in 2017. The flavor was created by a fan and Texas native, Ellen Sarem. While the chips will only be available on the West Coast this time around, we hope you can find them on Snacks.com, Ellen!

The Crispy Taco-flavored potato chips feature a hint of ground beef, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and tomato to give you everything you love about a taco in one perfect bite.

South & Midwest: Lay’s Fried Pickles with Ranch

Lay’s Fried Pickles with Ranch had a few brief stints over the past few years—originally launching in 2019. The chips are a bit different from Lay’s Dill Pickle flavor, which is available all year round, as they feature notes of dill, fried batter, and ranch dressing.

National: Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime & Cracked Pepper

Lastly, Lay’s Kettle Cooked Lime & Cracked Pepper chips are returning as the only flavor available nationwide. The extra-crunchy kettle-cooked chips have a zesty lime flavor with a hint of spicy cracked pepper. They must be beloved by all if Lay’s chose to release them as the flavor that hits home for everyone.
