There’s a new mayor in town on Blue Bloods!

The CBS procedural is about to kick off its tenth season in September, and there’s already a lot of action happening. Exploding cars, apartment hunting, unjust arrests—it’s all waiting for us in the premiere episode, “The Real Deal.”

Those aren’t the only surprises the show has in store, though. Deadline revealed that Dylan Walsh is joining that cast as a recurring character. He’s reportedly playing the newly elected NYC mayor, and he has his eyes set on Bridget Moynahan’s Erin Reagan.

He apparently wants to back Erin in her run for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, but there’s something fishy about his offer. The outlet claims, “the lines between ‘work with’ and ‘work for’ are clearly blurred,” so we hope his intentions are as pure as they seem. Otherwise it could lead to some tense situations between the two. Or worse, between Erin and the rest of her family.

This is hardly Dylan’s first time on crime TV. He’s been on a ton of series that you love, including Whiskey Cavalier, Longmire, NCIS: New Orleans, CSI, and Castle. He also recurred three times on Law and Order: SVU as John Conway and Malcom Royce. Dylan is probably best known, though, for his roles as Al Burns on Unforgettable and Dr. Sean McNamara on Nip/Tuck.

We’re not exactly sure what to expect from Dylan on Blue Bloods—including what kind of trouble he may bring to the Reagans—but we do know we can’t wait to watch!
