Law and Order fans would like a word with NBC.

On February 13, hours before the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals kicked off Super Bowl LIV, NBC aired a 30-second commercial that riled up Law and Order: SVU and Law and Order: Organized Crime viewers. In the clip, Law and Order’s Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, The Voice’s Kelly Clarkson and America’s Got Talent’s Terry Crews gather to watch Super Bowl Sunday together when they come across a bold NBC commercial.

Ted Danson. Perhaps, the no. 1 reason NBC is America’s favorite network,” an announcer says. But the TV personalities immediately disagree.

“Ted Danson? Should be Terry Crews spinning on that thing,” Terry said. “Come on, NBC! I’m like on all your shows!” Kelly commented. “You’re both great, but I’ve been on this network for 23 years. I mean, seriously?” Mariska quipped. “What a bunch of …,” Chris added.

But while all four of them are going off at the TV, another person pops up after Ted — actor and comedian Kenan Thompson. Unsurprisingly, this doesn’t go over well.

After seeing NBC’s commercial within a commercial on Twitter, fans of several shows wasted no time voicing their opinions. That said, Law and Order folks might have been the most passionate, and the show also spoke out in support.

“Justice for @Mariska and @Chris_Meloni,” Law and Order’s official Twitter account wrote. “Oh please, I love them all but nothing is better than @Mariska and @Chris_Meloni together!” a different fan said. “Mariska and Christopher… enough said 💁♀️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” a follower commented. “I absolutely love this!! This is great!!! I gotta go with Mariska and Chris!! ♥️♥️,” someone else tweeted.

Meanwhile, others showed up for Terry and Kelly. “We agree with @terrycrews. ✨,” AGT’s official Twitter wrote. “After all, NBC stands for Nothing But Clarkson 😏, right @blakeshelton?” a fan tweeted.

Favoritism aside, many viewers were on the same page about how much they enjoyed it. “Without the Super Bowl even starting, NBC won best commercial. I mean @Chris_Meloni and @Mariska may have helped a little,” a person wrote. “This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂,” another added.
