Lauren Santo Domingo and Chairish's Collaboration Is At the Top of Our Spring Shopping Lists

Lauren Santo Domingo, the fashion and home luminary behind Moda Operandi, has teamed up with Chairish to celebrate the launch of her tableware line, Moda Domus. The line, which boasts wicker accessories, hand-painted glass and dinnerware, and timeless inspirations, like new designs centered around the lily of the valley, was designed and launched during the pandemic and speaks to Domingo's singular laidback, yet still refined, style, and will be featured in an exclusive trunk show on Chairish's website, starting today.
"I am always seeking newness and beauty, wherever it may be," says Domingo. "Fashion and design regularly serve up new products, new trends...there is always something to get excited about. Moda Domus is meant to feel timeless with some European sophistication - [to] elevate your table setting with the highest quality craftsmanship from artisans in France and Italy." The tastemaker has also curated her favorite antiques, lighting, tableware, and accessories from Chairish's current collection, making it a cinch to satisfy all your decorating needs for a spring refresh. Moda Operandi will also simultaneously be hosting 30 of Chairish's best-selling tabletop and furniture finds on its site.
"I take my time. I am always refining and perfecting, I will move things around...try things in different places," notes Domingo. "Once something falls into place, I am satisfied. It is a great feeling when something just works - I’m always chasing that feeling. I’m always looking at auctions and on Chairish. I stop at all the estate sales I pass on the road and no matter where I am, I go to local antique shops. Before I travel anywhere I look up shops and Sunday flea markets to visit."
Domingo, who is a former Vogue editor and has had homes in Paris, New York City, and Southampton, is deft at mixing and match, whether it's making an outfit or setting a table. Below, a lace tablecloth layered over a gingham textile, set with colorful ceramic dishes, and mixed with silver vases and various glasses creates an aesthetic that's cheerful and elevated, without being fussy or overdone.
"I’m always looking for unique silver items: bowls, trays, boxes, and vintage champagne buckets - which are great for floral arranging: the shape is very easy for beginners, just drop some seasonal flowers in, give them a good fluff and it looks better than anything from a florist, I promise," says Domingo. "Also, Italian glass and things that look like other things—asparagus boxes, cabbage plates. Of course, I love pottery and vases! The more unusual and cheap, the better."
Domingo will also be featured on Chairish's podcast (airing May 12), which is hosted and compiled by former editor Michael Boodro.
