Lauren Jauregui and Ty Dolla $ign Dating Rumors Cause Rift Between Fans
Over the last couple of days, rumors that Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui and Ty Dolla $ign are dating have been fueled by the fact that they were spotted hanging out at New York Fashion Week together. On top of that, both artists posted photos with each other along with some seemingly affectionate captions on Monday (September 11). While the duo hasn't come out to say that they're officially together, plenty of fans have taken their excitement about the possible couple to the comment section of Lauren and Ty's Instagrams. But at the same time, a number of other fans have spoken out, shipping Lauren with other people.
After Lauren posted the photo of her and Ty to Twitter, one person replied, "I WANT LAUCY BACK PLS," along with a number of older photos depicting Lauren and Lucy Vives. According to MTV News, the two had been dating at the end of 2016. The two were also photographed by Nicole Cartolano, who says that the shoot was supposed to be somewhat of a "coming-out." In November 2016, Lauren officially came out in an open letter in which she voiced why she feels threatened by Donald Trump as a bisexual Cuban-American woman.
However, Lucy isn't the only person that fans have brought up in response to the photos of Lauren and Ty. Another person responded on Twitter to the photo with, "I WANT CAMREN BACK PLEASE!!🙁🙁😭😭💔💔." This is in reference to Camila Cabello, Lauren's former group mate. Many Harmonizers have shipped these two together even though Lauren has said that the two never dated. Furthermore, back in March 2017 she had some words for a fan who insinuated why Lauren hated the idea of Camren. The performer responded on Twitter saying, "No I hate it because it's invasive, scary, delusional, disrespectful to us both and was never real...Ever." She added in another tweet, "You never quite become ok with people sexualizing you and your friendships for their sick pleasure. That's why."
And it looks like Lauren's fans have taken into consideration her past comments about the Camren shipping. User reguilover wrote in a comment on Lauren's Instagram, "if you care about her let HER BE F*\CKING HAPPY FOR ONE TIME. I miss Camren too. But we need to stop. It's her life. She needs to be happy. Leave her alone."
Both Lauren and reguilover's sentiments can most definitely apply to this current situation with Ty. They might still just be friends for now and it's important that we don't read into things until they clear the air themselves. That said, it's important to remember that even though they're famous, they're people too and deserve respect and privacy.
