From Delish

It's been over 10 years since Laguna Beach last aired on MTV, and everyone is totally over Stephen Colletti. Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, on the other hand, are still very much in the spotlight. Beyond being television personalities, both are successful fashion designers, authors, and cooks.

TBH, we love them both - Kristin for her bison steak kebabs and Lauren for her mini key lime pies with coconut macaroon crusts (!!). Even though the two don't keep in touch and there are allegedly no hard feelings between them, we'll never forget their notorious high school feuding. So once we discovered that each has her own hummus recipe, we couldn't resist pitting them against each other for a snackdown.

KRISTIN'S RECIPE

Instead of the traditional chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans), Kristin uses cannellini beans for an Italian twist. She does still use tahini but only a tablespoon of it, so it's kinda hard to detect. Also in the mix: a clove of garlic, roasted (and shelled) pistachios, champagne vinegar, parsley, lemon juice, lemon zest, cumin, olive oil, and PINK HIMALAYAN salt. Is that really necessary, Kristin?

LAUREN'S RECIPE

LC sticks to canned garbanzo beans, but she makes you peel the skin off each one by squeezing it between your fingers first. This sucks. But she swears it's the key to super smooth hummus.

The hummus' green color comes from spinach, arugula, cilantro, and green onion. There's also garlic, ONE FULL CUP of olive oil, and lemon juice.

THE VERDICT

It was a close call but, ultimately, Lauren's green hummus won. Though it didn't taste much like the traditional hummus people are used to, taste testers didn't care. They loved its smooth texture and bright flavor.

People were into the flavor of Kristin's, but didn't appreciate how thick it was. (One person said she "could pave a pot hole with it.") Perhaps that full cup of olive oil in Lauren's recipe was warranted after all ...
