How did Laura and Ben meet?
The couple met at one of Ben’s concerts in 2000 and wed in December 2005, after five years of dating. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their Los Angeles home, People reported at the time.

Ben, 50, and Laura have two children together: a son, Ellery, born August 21, 2001, and a daughter, Jaya, born on November 28, 2004.

Ellery, now 18, is an aspiring designer and model who made his runway debut in 2018 at Calvin Klein Collection's Spring 2019 show, W magazine claimed. Jaya, now 15, is a budding activist who spoke out against gun violence at the March for Our Lives event in Los Angeles in 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Why did Laura and Ben get divorced?
After five years of marriage, Ben filed for divorce from Laura in 2010, citing irreconcilable differences, according to People. The couple briefly reconciled in 2012 but Laura soon filed a response to Ben’s papers and the details were finalized in September 2013. The former couple now share joint custody of their two children.
Ben and Laura have always been extremely private about their relationship and have never publicly commented on the reason for their split.
But Laura did recently make a rare mention of their divorce and how it informed her award-winning performance in Netflix’s Marriage Story.
“As [director Noah Baumbach] first said about the story when we first talked about it, he said, ‘I want to tell a love story where endings are not failures.’ And that really moved me and struck me deeply,” she said, pointing to her own amicable separation and that of her parents. “So to my amazing divorced parents, and my amazing step parents, and my amazing children—who came from love despite an ending in a marriage—we’re so privileged to redefine what family looks like.”
Who is Laura dating now?
Since her divorce from Ben, the Oscar-nominated actress was rumored to be dating Common and Bradley Cooper. (Common said Laura was “just my friend” and Laura commented that she and Bradley are “amazing friends.”)
More recently, Laura’s love life made headlines in December 2017 when she was photographed kissing former NBA player Baron Davis outside the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. A source close to the Big Little Lies star told People at the time, “They’re good friends.”
