Fine trimmings are usually reserved for dining rooms, dens, and bedrooms—think banquettes accessorized with bouillon fringe or windows dressed as fashionably as runway models. After touring the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in February, however, it’s clear that bathrooms are worthy of donning dazzling accessories of their own. Bathrooms have slowly evolved from utilitarian spaces (the one we promise ourselves we’ll redo in the next renovation) to the new hot destinations within our homes, turned into spa-like wellness retreats or opulent dressing rooms.

A few emerging trends at KBIS included mixed metal finishings, sculptural tubs and sinks, and color galore (yes, green isn’t going anywhere soon). Above all, we saw that the industry is ready to give the bathroom its glamorous glow up. Here, five of our favorite finds for bringing sparkle and shine.

Kohler spotlighted its method of 3D printing with the vitreous china Rista bathroom sink. The bowl’s undulating interior surface resembles water carving through rock over centuries. With a natural clay body finished in clear glaze, it’s a statement-making centerpiece for a powder bath.

House of Rohl’s Victoria + Albert introduced its Luminaries collection—hand-polished freestanding bathtubs in three incandescent finishes including Sparkling Champagne, Stardust, and Shimmering Sand. What an opulent spot to unwind with a book and a glass of bubbly.
