Larimer Humane Society to waive all adoption fees for weekend 'Adopt-a-thon'

In the face of rising animal intakes, crowded kennels and decreased capacity at its Loveland shelter, Larimer Humane Society will waive adoption fees for all animals during a weekend "Adopt-a-thon."

How the Adopt-a-thon works

From Friday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 13, the humane society, 3501 E. 71st St. in Loveland, will waive all adoption fees for all animals, regardless of age, according to the organization. Its hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The humane society's behavior and client services team will be available over the weekend to answer questions about specific animals to see if they would be a good fit in your home.

Every adoption made during the Adopt-a-thon will include:

  • Preliminary vaccinations

  • Microchip implant and registration

  • Spay and neuter surgery

  • A free collar and leash for dogs

  • A complimentary post-adoption medical exam from a participating veterinary clinic

  • A complimentary first month of pet health insurance

  • A discount on your first purchase from Poudre Pet & Feed Supply

From earlier this summer: Weld County's Humane Society is dissolving. Here's what that means for Larimer County.

You can still participate in the humane society's Adopt-a-thon offerings. As part of the weekend, the organization is inviting community members to bring their existing pets in for $25 microchip implants and microchip registration.
