Lands’ End Marks Two Milestones

MARKING MILESTONES: Lands’ End, the all-American classic brand, has launched a limited-edition “1963” collection to mark two occasions: the brand’s 60th anniversary, and the 40th anniversary of its classic Squall outerwear style.

The limited-edition line includes several unisex pieces, including a Squall anorak, a Squall fleece pullover, a Squall knit beanie, as well as a men’s Squall crew sweater and Squall canvas open tote.

“The 1963 collection highlights timeless silhouettes with pops of color and detailing such as four nautical signal flags adorning the waist flap of the anorak and signal flags on the crewneck sweater to read LE63.

Outerwear, as well as swimwear, have long been leading categories for Lands’ End, which is based in Dodgeville, Wisc. Earlier this year, Andrew McLean, Lands’ End’s chief executive officer, told WWD that focuses on investing most where the company does best — swimwear and outerwear, as well as layering and catalogues. “It’s about taking the key categories we’re best at and leaning into those,” McLean said. The brand’s Squall is popular in outfitting for outdoor activities particularly when the weather gets challenging.
