Lands’ End Launches Women’s Jeans Made with Recover
Lands’ End is the latest brand to add Recover’s high-quality, low-impact recycled cotton fiber to its ingredient matrix.
The classic American brand bowed a line of women’s jeans made with the Spanish materials innovation company’s branded fiber. The comfort stretch jeans are made with fabrics comprised of 52 percent cotton, 20 percent Recover recycled cotton, 27 percent polyester and one percent spandex.

The recycled cotton is made from textile waste, significantly reducing the carbon and water footprint of the new apparel it goes into.
Lands’ End highlights Recover’s sustainable benefits in the collection’s product descriptions, calling attention to how using “just 20 percent of Recover recycled cotton fiber to make just one pair of jeans will save enough water to amount to 23 showers or one year of drinking water.”
The jeans are also dyed with liquid indigo that requires less of the dyestuff than traditional processes, the company stated.
The collection spans straight, straight ankle, cropped flare, wide-leg, boyfriend and bootcut fits. The jeans have contoured, no-gap backs and are offered in a dark rinse wash. Jeans are finished with a faux leather patch made with apple byproducts. Jeans retail for $89.95.
Deemed a pioneer in recycled cotton fiber, Recover aims for production yields with minimal environmental impact. In addition to Spain’s Evlox, Beximco in Bangladesh and ADM in Pakistan use Recover in their fabric production. C&A, Primark, DL1961 and Tillys are among the brands and retailers to launch Recover product lines.
The addition of Recover complements other efforts by Lands’ End to minimize its environmental footprint.
The company is working on creating a product life cycle component. By 2024, Lands’ End will transition to 100 percent recycled polyester and only use cotton from sustainable sources. It will also transition to 100 percent sustainable packaging and labeling.
