TMZ first reported the news, alleging that police were called to a Hooters in Queens, NY, on July 20 after shots were fired. Per the outlet's original report, Lamar and friends were leaving Hooters when they got into a "verbal altercation" with some other people: "One witness told cops a man from the other group pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots into the air-nobody was hit."

Meanwhile, a NYPD officer confirms to People that members of Lamar's team were involved in the "verbal dispute" but Lamar was simply "present on scene." Per TMZ, he hasn't been accused of wrongdoing, and is cooperating fully with police.
