Lake Tahoe Hit With The "Biggest Storm Of The Season"

Palisades Tahoe, CA, is seeing "the biggest storm of the season! Snow has been piling up fast all day, leading to several lift closures and eventually the closure of the entire Palisades side of the mountain."

Yesterday was a tough one for those without reservations (like me) and just as 1pm struck, we got shut out of the pow, as the mountain closed due to snow safety so Ski Patrol could work their magic. However, today's a new day, and with tons of fresh pow, KT is ON!

Officials at Palisades Tahoe announced that "High winds and snowfall will impact mountain operations tomorrow, and a slow start is likely for most of our lifts."

Right now, the Base-to-Base is open, the Tram is open, the Funitel is open, KT-22 is open, Exhibition, Far East, Red Dog, Resort, and Wa She Shu are all open as well.

The Upper Mountain is mostly closed (such as Siberia, Granite Chief, and Headwall) but that was to be expected.

Alpine side, Roundhouse, Treeline Cirque, Meadow, and Subway are open, with Scott being on wind hold (wah!).

The base of Palisades Tahoe saw 4 inches overnight, a foot in the last day, and 22 inches over the last week.

The upper mountain saw 6 inches overnight and 18 inches in the last day.

In the last day, resorts around Lake Tahoe got hammered.

Diamond Peak got 15 inches, Heavenly got 14 inches, Homewood got 5 inches, Kirkwood got 19, Mt. Rose got 26 inches, Northstar got 27, Sierra-at-Tahoe got 14, and Sugar Bowl got 17, and Tahoe Donner got 21.

Check out those sweet pow turns at Northstar.

No one came out on the bottom of this one.

Better yet, it's not stopping anytime soon. Scattered snow showers are possible through Friday.

Let's keep it coming!
