Lake Metroparks Farmpark unveils details for 2024 Lamb Jam

Apr. 22—Lamb Jam is coming April 27 and 28 to Lake Metroparks Farmpark.

Each day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can help shear a sheep, spin wool, weave on a loom and learn to make felt. They also can join the party in the barn for photo ops with Little Bo Peep and her real live sheep, according to a news release.

In addition, attendees can make and take wooly crafts and learn the "Pasture Shuffle" during Lamb Jam sessions. Border collies will also show off their moves, along with the Western Reserve Spinners and Weavers Guild. Shop for real wool products from fiber vendors and experience the beauty of animal fiber, the release stated.

"At Lamb Jam, we talk with visitors about sheep and why we have them from an agriculture perspective," Lake Metroparks Farmpark Livestock Manager Jenny Greskovich stated in the release. "Our goal is that they will come away with an understanding of how sheep provide farmers with food to put on the table and wool to produce clothing and other textiles."

The Lamb Jam schedule of activities is:

—Sheep shearing (electric shears): 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

—Meet & greet Bo Peep: 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m.
