The Meghan Markle Effect™ is still going strong, and if the New York Fall 2019 runways are any indication, it's thoroughly infiltrated the beauty realm, too. Since joining the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex has cultivated a recognizable signature style, full of sustainable fashion and tailored outerwear. She also has a go-to beauty look that includes radiant skin, minimalist makeup and polished, sleek hairstyles in classic shapes. And now, the runways are full of Markle-esque hair: Shiny, smooth buns and ponytails are officially trending.

The runways are so often full of messy, undone styles with intentional flyaways, strategically placed knots and tousled waves, but the Fall 2019 shows have offered a smattering of tidy, elegant updos. Think French twists, low ponytails and dancer-like buns that emphasize shine and sleekness — yet still maintain an air of ease, never prissiness, just like Markle's.

For the Cushnie runway, hairstylist Justine Marjan pulled models' hair into low-slung, super-straight ponytails at the nape of the neck. With a precise center part and strands tucked neatly behind models' ears, there was a distinctly Markle-inspired vibe. Self-Portrait's beauty look also included center-parted updos, with hairstylist Jimmy Paul slicking the hair into place, securing it at the base of the neck, weaving it into a three-strand braid and then coiling that up into a tight knot.

The buns at Brandon Maxwell, crafted by lead stylist Bob Recine (for Dyson), were a bit more intricate; while they looked elegantly simple from the front, the back view revealed multiple coiled sections of hair, twisted together and fashioned into a more complex updo.

For Brock Collection, hairstylist Peter Gray (also for Dyson) took the hair in a slightly more romantic direction, twisting it into low buns with wispy pieces the Duchess herself so often wears. Loose strands also accented the "modern French chignons" created by Jon Reyman for Hellessy, which featured a center part, with the hair pulled over the ears.
