At the 2022 Trooping the Colour, Queen Elizabeth's youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor, looked elegant as she channeled her mother, Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Louise wore Sophie's Philip Treacy hat from the 2009 Trooping the Colour celebrations to this year's Platinum Jubilee Trooping.

Said 2009 Trooping the Colour was the now 18-year-old Louise's first appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the rest of the royal family.

Therefore, wearing her mother's hat from that day is a significant throwback as the entire British royal family celebrates the Queen's Platinum Jubilee—and her monumental 70 years on the British throne.

Even before today, Louise had already been part of the unofficial lead-up to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. At the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May, she drove her late grandfather Prince Philip's carriage in the show. Queen Elizabeth was in the crowd to cheer her on. She also drove the carriage in the "A Gallop Through History" performance.

Louise, like Prince Philip was, is a keen carriage driver. "I trail in her wake, frankly," her mother the Countess of Wessex said in a 2020 interview about Lady Louise's skills. "No, she is naturally so good at it, she really is. It's something that she has taken to very well."

The public can expect to see the Wessex family at various Platinum Jubilee events over the next four days, so keep checking back to T&C over the celebratory weekend.
