Much to the surprise of just about everyone, Lady Gaga broke her Gucci-wearing streak during the House of Gucci press tour last night for the film's premiere in Italy, and instead, opted for a different Italian fashion label - Versace.

On Saturday, Gaga stepped out in a fiery red corset-style Versace gown that was based on a design from the brand's spring 1995 collection. The present-day interpretation featured a similar bustier-like bodice, high slit, and lace-up detailing as the original, but also imbued a modern bodycon silhouette and a long train. Dripping in Tiffany & Co. jewelry, the singer-slash-actress accessorized with a pile of bracelets on each wrist, a chainlink gold necklace, and starburst diamond earrings.

Heavy smoky eye makeup, a nude pout, and her voluminous half-up, half-down hairstyle (close to the one she wore earlier in the day) added even more sex appeal to Gaga's already sultry appearance.

"I cried all day doing press in Milan," Gaga captioned a carousel of images from the premiere on Instagram. "I am so grateful and humbled to be in our movie #HouseOfGucci. Coming Thanksgiving! Father, Son, and tonight…Haus of @Versace." Donatella Versace commented, "FABULOUS! My beautiful Gaga."

In the murderous fashion epic, Gaga portrays femme fatale Patrizia Reggiani, the woman famous for plotting the death of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci. During a recent interview with British Vogue, she opened up about how the role made her experience "some psychological difficulty" while filming. "I had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming," she told the outlet. "I was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her. I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn't taken a walk in about two months and I panicked. I thought I was on a movie set."

Gaga added that she stayed in character for almost three years. "I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as her for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that," she said. "Off camera, I never broke. I stayed with her. It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde. I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money."
