Lady Gaga revealed that she planned a secret Coachella set at the now-postponed festival

Most of the events we looked forward to attending this spring have been (rightfully) postponed, from concerts, film festivals, and music festivals—including Coachella. Lady Gaga announced via Twitter on March 24th that she was planning to make a surprise appearance at Coachella, which was originally slated to occur mid-April. And we have a request for Gaga: Give us an at-home, social-distancing concert instead!

“I had so many fun things planned for us to celebrate together…” Gaga said on Twitter, in which she also announced the postponement of her upcoming album, Chromatica. “I had a secret Coachella set lined up, and a lot of other fun surprises, some of which I’m still planning to share with all of you very soon!”

Coachella has announced that it’s moving to October 9th through October 18th, 2020. However, Gaga did not say if she would attend the festival in the fall.

But even more devastating to fans is the fact that Chromatica will not be released until later this year. The original album release date was April 10th, but as Gaga wrote in her tweet, “it just doesn’t feel right to me to release the album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”

“I wanted to tell you, that after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica,” she wrote. “I will announce a new 2020 release date soon.”

Furthermore, Gaga noted that her MGM Las Vegas shows slated April 30th through May 11th have also been postponed. However, she is hopeful that her album tour, Chromatica Ball, will be able to go on as planned throughout the summer.

“I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions,” Gaga wrote.

“It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic,” she added.

Though we’ll have to wait longer than anticipated, Gaga assured us that “Chromatica is still very much on the way and I can’t wait.”

“I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time,” she wrote. “And until that time comes, LET’S ALL STAY HOME!”

Agreed. We’ll have to score our at-home dance parties to “Stupid Love” while we wait for Chromatica to drop.
