Lady Gaga’s Poolside Instagram Sets the Mood for the Long Weekend

Lady Gaga is a living, breathing long weekend mood.

The 35-year-old singer and actress took to Instagram on Thursday to share two new photos that are A) sexy beyond reason and B) immediately going on our mental Memorial Day Weekend Vibes vision board. In the photos, Gaga casually lounges (presumably poolside) on some water-splashed concrete in a blue and white tie-dye, thong bikini in front of a backdrop of lush green grass separating her and the shimmering blue ocean on the horizon.

Everything about Gaga's body language in the two (admittedly similar) pictures is casual and relaxed, right down to the way her bare feet are cradling her wine glass. The overall effect seems to have given Gaga herself mermaid vibes—at least, that's what we have to assume, since she captioned the post with a single mermaid emoji.

This visual masterclass in self-care and starting your long weekend right comes less than a week after Gaga posted a public thank you message to her "real friends" on Instagram. The brief but touching tribute post came shortly after the premiere of the Apple TV+ series The Me You Can’t See, in which Gaga spoke candidly about her experiences with rape and abuse and their impact on her mental health.

"I love my friends," she wrote in the post's caption. "My real friends. That I come home to a pile of rainbows because they want me to smile and celebrate me. I love you friends, all your colors and your uniqueness—your kindness, your curiosity and endless love ❤️."
