Just when we thought the fashion in Ridley Scott’s upcoming film House of Gucci couldn’t get any better — think: Adam Driver as Gucci heir, Maurizio Gucci, in a cable knit, snow pants, and ‘70s aviators; and Lady Gaga, as his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, in a Pretty Woman-esque polka dot dress — Lady Gaga appeared on the set in Italy wearing a wedding dress. *Cues “Marry The Night.”* The scene being shot? The 1973 wedding of Patrizia and Maurizio Gucci, of course. House of Gucci follows the rise and fall of the couple’s relationship — the fall being the eventual murder of Gucci in 1995 at the hands of Reggiani. (Sort of: Reggiani hired a hitman named Benedetto Ceraulo to carry out the job, for which she received a 29-year prison sentence.) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Andrew Medichini/AP/Shutterstock (11849111a) Lady Gaga plays Maurizio Gucci’s former wife Patrizia Reggiani during the shooting of a movie by Ridley Scott, based on the story of the murder of Maurizio Gucci in 1995, in Rome Lady Gaga Gucci Movie, Rome, Italy – 08 Apr 2021 The dress worn by Gaga on the set of House of Gucci differs from the original one worn by Reggiani. While they are both long-sleeved, photos from the wedding ceremony show the “black widow” wearing an unadorned, high-necked gown with a tapered waist. Meanwhile, Gaga’s features a high-low hem, a sweetheart neckline, embroidered details, and lace sleeves. (Manolo Blahnik’s Hangisi heels, which came out in the ’00s and were popularized by the Sex and the City film, are also period-inaccurate.) Like Gaga, though, her lace and scalloped cathedral veil was attached to a swept-back beehive updo. Both carried a large bouquet of white-and-pink flowers. Driver looked equally dapper, mimicking Gucci to a T in a black tuxedo jacket with tails, gray, pinstripe pants, and a silver tie. The only difference between the fictional version and the real-life look was Driver’s oversized, tortoiseshell eyeglasses. They’re very 2021 Gucci, though, so we’ll let it slide. Like what you see? Rihanna is on a street style roll. Over the last month, the singer-designer has been debuting impeccable look after impeccable look. What makes them superior? For every one, she seamlessly combines a mix of new, covetable pieces by the likes of Celine’s Hedi Slimane and Rick Owens and older, vintage finds from brands like Tom Ford-era Gucci. On Monday, Rihanna went and did it again, debuting a monochrome brown look while in NYC to celebrate her mother’s birthday. Specifically, she wore a brown, leather blazer with matching leather gloves, see-through brown pants, and white heels. Not only is it a chic going-out ensemble, but it’s the perfect transitional weather look for the remainder of this confusing spring-to-summer weather, with the leather jacket chill-proof and the pants breathable. (Tip: Lose the gloves and swap out the leather blazer for a similar style made of cotton or linen once the temperature rises above 60 degrees to take this look well into the summer.) NEW YORK, NEW YORK – APRIL 05: Rihanna is seen in the Meatpacking District on April 05, 2021 in New York City. (Photo by Gotham/GC Images) Once again, Rihanna plucked pieces from different brands, with her blazer being from Saint Laurent’s most recent runway collection and the gloves from Bottega Veneta‘s current line. Her white heels, called the Amber, are from The Attico and are currently in stock (but only if you’re a lucky size 35), and her necklace is David Yurman. Of course, we don’t all have the Savage x Fenty founder’s fashion connections, making it tricky to get our hands on the same kinds of designer duds.
