Lady Gaga loves to experiment with her looks. Although her avant-garde styling choices has slowed down a bit since her The Fame days, she still finds time to take inspiration from various time periods, play with new hairstyles, and even try out a makeup-free moment from time to time. Most recently, she kept the subtle experimentation going with another retro haircut.

After trying out Audrey Hepburn bangs, a rockstar shag haircut, and a short flippy bob in recent months, the megastar walked the red carpet for Netflix's new film Maestro on December 12, where she debuted a new vintage lob.

Showing up to support her friend and former co-star Bradley Cooper who produced and stars in the film, Gaga's new lob was styled in pure '50s elegance by her longtime hairstylist Frederic Asipiras. Just long enough to graze the singer's shoulders, Asipiras quaffed Gaga's bright white blonde hair in a chic side part, adding soft, retro waves evocative of old Hollywood starlets—in fact, he says that the look was inspired by Veronica Lake.

Asipiras parted the star's hair to the right, where most of the drama was happening. The right side of her hair was styled in a big voluminous curl that perfectly framed her face and then curled under to rest on her shoulder. The other side of her hair was tucked behind her ear, with a slight upward flip and curl at the bottom. Both curls looked almost brushed out for a soft, fluffy—but still sculpted—effect. Asipiras used all Joico products to create the look, keeping everything secure with a spritz of Power Spray ($23).

Lobs like hers, and shorter, retro-inspired hair in general, have been everywhere lately. Perhaps in part inspired by Sofia Coppola's Priscilla making us all fall in love with retro styling, or perhaps just the trend cycle cycling through the decades again. Either way, Khloé Kardashian just wore a vintage-inspired lob, as did Zendaya; and Kylie Jenner recently wore a look eerily similar to Gaga herself.

The rest of the star's look continued the classic theme. Her skin was bronzed, glowy, and sculpted. On her eyes was a similar bronzy hue to her contour, and a thin cat eye. Gaga's lips were a deep pink with an ultra-glossy finish, and her dark brown sculpted brows completed the look, framing her glam.

Her outfit was sleek and all-black with glittering floral accents. Made up of a blazer and trousers, she layered the slightly oversized blazer over her bare skin, keeping the focus on the sequins by her waist. Shiny diamond studs completed the look, and she went off to the red carpet.
