So much for being far from the shallow. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper might play love interests in Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 3. Rumors have been swirling (and been denied by the stars themselves) of the A Star Is Born duo being romantically linked. Well, it seems the only romance the Oscar-winning and nominated duo have is on screen.

Audiences were totally swept away by Cooper and Gaga in 2018 with the former’s directorial debut in the fourth iteration of A Star is Born. Now, it seems, if the pair won’t reunite for A Star Is Born performance, they could be seen together as love interests on the big screen. Well, sort of. Gaga is reportedly being courted for a voice role in the next installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, in which Cooper voices Rocket the Racoon.

Wait--Are Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Really Reuniting After His Breakup?

Here's How Irina Shayk Really Feels About Those Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga Dating Rumors

A source told HollywoodLife, “There is a very strong possibility that Lady Gaga and Bradley will be working together again on Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Only some cast names have been released but the word is Bradley will reprise his role of Rocket Raccoon and Gaga will play his love interest. Their characters are animated but still, it’s exciting.” The source continued, “Audiences want them together and certainly everyone recognizes that appeal, they’re box office gold together, it’s very likely that this will happen.”

Well, it’s not exactly what fans of Gaga and Cooper might have hoped for, but it’s definitely something to look forward to. As for any future A Star Is Born reunions, those rumors have put to bed. “Bradley and Lady Gaga realize that A Star Is Born was a moment in time and very special and they will never forget their performances of the song especially during the Oscars but they don’t have a plan to perform it again because they don’t want to dilute the song and ruin the history they have made with it,” another source shared with HollywoodLife.

“Would they consider doing something for a Lifetime Achievement moment down the line? Absolutely, but there is no plans of doing the song together anytime soon,” the source added, “Will they work together again or maybe record something else in the future, that is definitely likely but when it comes to performing ‘Shallow’ it will be a while before they even consider performing it again.”

There have been rumors that will appear for a joint performance at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival, but those just turned out to be false reports. So cross your fingers, Gaga and Cooper fans. You might see —or in this case, hear — the pair in the same film in the near future.
