  • Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande have joined the VMAs stage for the first performance of their hit song, “Rain on Me.”

  • Spoiler alert: They killed it!

It’s hard to believe Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me” came out three whole months ago and we have yet to see an official performance of it IRL—*ahem* thanks, coronavirus—but the good news is that one of those sad facts juuust changed as of, like…right now. And we have the 2020 VMAs to thank for that! God freakin’ bless the producers at MTV for making this long-awaited dream a reality. 😭

For the very first time, Gaga and Ariana teamed up for a live performance of “Rain on Me,” and here’s a plus—it’s also the first time the world of Chromatica came to life! (FYI, if you wanna make sure you know the song’s lyrics by heart, be sure to hobble on over here before watching Gaga and Ari’s performance below!)

I truly do not know what else to say besides: SHEEEEESH. I did not expect my wig to be snatched like this, y’all. Their outfits! Their vocals! Their perfectly executed dance moves! Excuse me while I stan this performance in the afterlife, since Gaga and Ari have officially left me deceased.

Quick reminder from the grave: “Rain on Me” is up for a bunch of awards tonight, clocking in with a total of seven (7!!!) nominations. The song’s list of nominations includes Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, and Best Visual Effects.

BRB, putting good money down that Gaga and Ari will make a clean sweep of those little Moon Person trophies.
