‘Lady Bird’ Just Became Rotten Tomatoes’ Most Popular Film of All Time

Move over, Toy Story 2. Rotten Tomatoes has a new favorite film.

Lady Bird, a much-buzzed-about coming-of-age movie from Greta Gerwig, pushed the beloved animated film out of its top-reviewed spot on Rotten Tomatoes on Monday.

Gerwig’s directorial debut is the most popular film on the movie review site and has garnered a 100 percent rating since its release on November 3. The actress-cum-director learned the news from her younger brother, who she said was “also slightly skeptical” of the film’s monumental success.

The indie examines a rebellious teenager’s (Saoirse Ronan) difficult relationship with her mother (Laurie Metcalf) as she prepares to graduate from high school—and per our own highly critical barometer, yeah, it’s really that good.

We smell a busy awards season, Gerwig.
