‘Ladies of London’ Star Julie Montagu Thinks Meghan Markle “Americanized” Prince Harry

From Cosmopolitan

  • Julie Montagu of Bravo’s Ladies of London is incredibly supportive of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s life following their decision to step back.

  • Julie thinks Meghan’s “Americanized” Harry, but she isn’t mad at it.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from their senior royal duties still has people emotionally invested, despite the fact that they announced their decision to do so in the beginning of January (feel old yet?). Hell, it’s even got Julie Montagu—aka Viscountess Hinchingbrooke from Bravo’s Ladies of London—offering up her professional opinion about it! But don’t worry, she’s got nothing but support for Meg and Harry and their new endeavors.

“I think that Meghan has slightly Americanized Harry. I love it,” Julie told People. “I actually thought they were going to stay in Canada, just because I thought it would be more peaceful for them. I thought it was a good transition country—a good compromise.”

Despite the amount of press that Meghan and Harry get, Julie thinks that Meghan and Harry really moved overseas to get away from it all. “I don’t think they want to be in the news,” she said. “They want their projects and the charitable foundations that they support to be in the news, but they themselves don’t want to be in the news.”

And now that Meghan and Harry are finally enjoying their time in Los Angeles, Julie is fully convinced they’ll be able to live and adjust to a quieter lifestyle. “Anywhere is more private than being a member of the royal family in Britain,” Julie added. “Now that the dust has settled with their move and they’ve dropped their HRH titles—they’re now ready to be normal. I think that they will keep their [new] house very, very private as far as photos go.”

Glad to see that Meghan and Harry have Julie’s support, from one royal to another!
