Lacoste and Amazon's New Capsule Is the Epitome of Summer Comfort

Good news, folks—summer is nearly here. It's hard to believe, but al fresco happy hours, long weekends, pool days, and all-around easy livin' are a mere few weeks away.
So we were pretty stoked to hear that Lacoste, one of our favorite brands for classic preppy staples, was teaming up with e-commerce giant Amazon to create an exclusive capsule collection that achieves peak summer relaxation. The new Lacoste x Amazon collection features elevated wardrobe basics like T-shirts, sweatshirts, joggers, sweat shorts (a summer essential), and swimwear—a.k.a. the only things I'm interested in wearing this summer if things go according to plan.
The star of the show in this powerhouse meeting of the minds is the brand-new Lacoste crocodile logo. Instead of the tiny embroidered croc you're used to seeing on the brand's iconic polo, these pieces introduce a supersized white logo with featuring a line drawing of the crocodile, the brand's founding year, 1927, and the word 'Lacoste' in all caps emblazoned not once, not twice, but three times—because good things come in threes, of course. The white blocked design is reminiscent of sportswear from the '90s and early aughts (think Champion and Tommy Hilfiger), with a decidedly 2022 logo-mania twist. And don't worry, our little green crocodile friend is still there too, whether on the neckline or sleeve on the tops, and by the waist or hem on the bottoms.
Rene Lacoste, the agile Frenchman known on the tennis courts as "le Crocodile," is widely credited with originating the cotton pique polo that's become synonymous with the brand. Needless to say, Lacoste's signature heavyweight cotton and meticulous attention to fabrication are felt here. Our favorite piece in the collection is actually the swim trunks—not only do they come in classic colors and dry quickly, they also come with a carry bag for easy transport when wet.
The name of the game here is effortless style. All of the tops and bottoms can be mixed and matched to put together a relaxed look that requires minimal effort. Or, turn the effort down to absolute zero and order a matching set—you can't go wrong there. Either way, it'll keep you comfortable wherever your summer takes you.
