The name of Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker didn’t come up once during a commencement speech this past weekend at Cabrini University in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania.

But many people noted that Kylie Kelce’s speech was different from the one Butker gave at Benedictine College earlier this month.

Kelce, the wife of former Eagles center Jason Kelce and the sister-in-law of Chiefs star Travis Kelce, was speaking at her alma mater, which is also a Catholic school.

“Everyone’s first question after graduation is, ‘What’s next?’” she told the graduates. “’I don’t know’ can be an honest and sufficient answer. The truth is that no one has their lives completely figured out. And if someone tells you otherwise, they are lying.”

Kelce also encouraged the audience to be true to themselves as they leave the academic arena. She’s helped raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation.

And, on occasion, she’s shown her humorous side on the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by the Kelce brothers.

“One of the most obvious forms of beauty in society is being unique,” she said.

“What a boring world it would be if you and your classmates sitting to either side of you thought exactly the same way, enjoyed exactly the same things and partook in exactly the same activities.

“There is excitement in embracing and exploring not only who you are as a person but the cultural and family values you were raised in. Those factors provide you your identity. They provide you the foundation you need to go off and make an impact.”

Kelce, who was a field-hockey player at Cabrini, also encouraged women who play sports. While in Kansas City last fall for the Chiefs-Eagles game, she held a field-hockey clinic.

“I know my time in athletics has helped shape me into the woman I am today,” she said. “I am well aware that my current position in life is due to the wonderful people around me, but I’ll be damned if I don’t stay true to myself in everything I do and ensure that I am always authentically me.

“So find the things that speak to you. Your enthusiasm can be channeled to create change, and you are wonderful the way that you are.”

Here is the speech.

This is what some people were saying about how Kelce’s speech compared with Butker’s.
