Kylie Jenner Re-Enters Her Tumblr Era With New Pastel Pink Hair

King Kylie is back.

If the TikTok girlies are to be believed, 2014 aesthetics are about to be back in a major way. Ever since last year, amateur trend forecasters have been predicting the return of Tumblr-coded fashion and beauty, and thanks to Kylie Jenner's latest hair change, I'm starting to believe them.

On January 16, Jenner shared a selfie revealing her new pastel pink hair color with the caption, "Hiiiii remember me." In the car selfie, she was wearing a gray ribbed tank top, no jewelry, and a pink milky manicure in a short square shape. She finished off the look with minimal makeup, including a healthy flush of blush, full brows, and matte pink lips with brown liner.

The simple makeup kept all the focus on her new hair. Previously jet black, her hair was dyed a gorgeous cherry blossom pink shade that made her look like a My Little Pony. It skimmed her chest and was styled in loose, effortless waves and a tousled side part.

Within mere seconds of posting, the makeup mogul's comment section was flooded with thousands of comments like "THIS IS NOT A DRILL KING, KYLIE IS BACKK" and crown emojis. The comments are a callback to Jenner's Tumblr user name, King Kylie. Jenner was extremely active on the website between 2014 and 2016, the time period when she was truly developing her own personal style and would often try out bold hair colors like her iconic teal tips. This was also when she and Kendall ruled Coachella. Kylie started showcasing her life on Snapchat, and she became known for her lips, prompting her to launch Kylie Cosmetics.

Recently, Jenner has been trying out a more minimal "quiet luxury" aesthetic, trading her catsuits for jeans and sky-high boots for Chanel ballet flats. In the beauty department, she's kept things equally as subdued, save for a major fashion week or campaign moment. It's exciting to see her have fun with her look again, and who knows, the statement necklaces and Lita boots may be next.
