Our hearts are broken today for Jason and Kyle Kelce who announced on Instagram yesterday that their beautiful Irish Wolfhound named Winnie has passed away.

Kyle Kelce wrote the sweetest tribute to her dog and you can't help but feel for her because losing a beloved pet is just one of the most painful things a family can go through.

On Thursday, Kylie, 31, shared a carousel post of their dog on Instagram to announce the sad news.

The post reads, "When I was in high school I had a folder on my desktop labeled “Gods gift to earth”. It was images of Irish Wolfhouds that I had collected from Google. I had fallen in love with the breed when I was a young and never let my fascination with them fade. It all lead me to Winnie and holy shit did she live up to the hype. She was everything I had hoped for in a wolfie and more.I lost part of my soul today, but I know she is at peace.I love you, Winn. You will always be my first born child."

So many of us consider our dogs our children and saying goodbye to a fur baby is so hard! I can't even imagine how painful this is to them.

The death of a dog takes a long time to get over, and nothing anyone can say can change that. It's so important to be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to grieve and realize that some days will be better than others but that pain never really goes away. It does get easier in time but it will forever be with you.

Winnie is survived by her sibling dog Baloo, also a Wolfhound. We are sure Baloo will be providing a lot of comfort to his owners during this difficult time.

Losing a dog is one of the most heartbreaking experiences a pet owner can ever have, and there are many ways you can commemorate the life your precious pup lived and all the joy and love they brought you.

Certain parks have a rainbow bridge where dog owners can place the collar or tags of a dog that has passed. This is a lovely way you can remember your pup and pay homage to all the other beloved dogs who have passed.

You can plant a memorial garden in your yard and place a stone or path marker with your pups name on it. This is a touching way to have small children get involved in saying goodbye to a pet.

You can create a memory book filled with beautiful photos of your dog.

You can light a candle in your dog's honor on their birthday, holidays, or whenever it brings you comfort.

You can adopt or foster a dog in honor or your pet, or make a donation in their name to your local animal shelter or Humane Society.

Our hearts go out to everyone, including the Kelce family, who is mourning the loss of their precious dog.
