Kylie Jenner Reveals Why She Chose Posie K for Her Anniversary Lip Trio Set (Exclusive)
The 2017 Best of Beauty Award winner for best pink lipstick is about to get even better. I didn't think that was possible, but Kylie Cosmetics announced on Instagram last week that it's launching a Posie K Anniversary Lip Trio in honor of Valentine's Day.
Two years ago, Kylie Jenner blessed lips everywhere with the cool berry shade in Matte Lip Kit form. Our beauty assistant, Amanda Bohnson, even set an alarm on her phone for the second it was released. Jenner later followed the Lip Kit up with the release of a high-shine gloss in the same beloved pink hue.
With this new Anniversary set, you'll get both, along with a brand-new Velvet Liquid Lipstick variation. "Posie K has always been one of my favorite lip kit shades," Jenner tells Allure. "We launched it as a gloss last year, and I wanted to launch the velvet version in a really special way for the two-year anniversary." (Yes, the new mom took a quick break to give us some insight on her new Kylie Cosmetics release.)
The only lip product that's missing from the bundle is the matching lip liner. Jenner says she likes to add the liner all over her lips as a base for the Matte Liquid Lipstick or Gloss. But as Amanda will tell you, it's not exactly necessary. The Matte Liquid Lipstick, in particular, has a doe-foot applicator that's easier to maneuver around lips, and it's pigmented and budge-proof enough all on its own. "All of the formulas wear well alone," Jenner adds. "The Gloss, Matte Liquid Lipstick, and the new Velvet Liquid Lipstick are all super pigmented, so you don’t really need to apply multiple coats."
Unlike the Matte Liquid Lipstick that clings to lips all day long, the Velvet Liquid Lipstick doesn't require an oil-based makeup remover and bicep strength to take off. Reason being? It doesn't dry down. Instead, it coats lips in a creamy, moisturizing pigment. It still has a matte finish, but it will still mark your territory on your coffee mug. You don't have to wear it just on Valentine's Day, but your dry lips will love how comfortable and hydrating it feels on all the other days this month that aren't pressuring you to go on a date.
Not sure to do with the rest of your makeup? Jenner has some tips. She likes to pair Posie K with a soft eye-makeup look using shadows from The Bronze Palette or The Burgundy Palette. She prefers "something natural with a warm pink blush so that the lips are the focus," she adds.
