Shutting down the haters. As social media users continue to make comments about Kristin Cavallari and Mark Estes’ age gap, the Laguna Beach alum made it clear that it’s all just noise to her.

The 37-year-old mother of three took to TikTok on March 2, 2024, to share a lighthearted clip about her new relationship with the former college football player, who is 13 years younger than her. “When they’re all up in arms that I’m dating a 24 year old. Andddd?” Cavallari captioned her TikTok, which you can watch below. In the clip, Cavallari lip syncs to the following audio: “So what are you going to do about it? Are you going to arrest me? Are you going to give me a ticket?”

Cavallari and Estes first sparked dating rumors in January 2024 after they were spotted vacationing together in Mexico. TMZ obtained a photo of the pair, and the outlet reported that that they were “flirty on the flight over” and “showing a lot of PDA,” with all signs pointing to them being a couple at the time. According to TMZ’s sources, the pair had been together for about a month at this point. A source who spoke to People further clarified these claims, telling the outlet that Cavallari and Estes had been “dating longer than people think,” but “have kept it very private.”

It wasn’t long before the Uncommon James founder confirmed the speculation on social media. She went Instagram official with the Montana Boyz member on February 28, 2024, sharing a selfie of themselves living it up in Los Cabos, Mexico. “He makes me happy 🤍” she captioned the post. Estes later shared Cavallari’s post on his Instagram Story with two hearts. Despite their happy announcement, some social media users couldn’t reserve their own judgements. “What could a 37 year old and 24 year old possibly have in common,” one commenter asked, while another joked, “Your kids need a step dad, not a big brother lol.”

Others, however, came to Cavallari’s defense and pointed out the double standard that women often face for dating younger men compared to older men. “Men date younger all the time… why is it a problem for women to do the same,” observed one social media user, while another wrote, “All these people hating. You’re hot AF. You wanna hookup with a 25 year old who looks like that? Get it, girl! Nothing wrong with an age gap. And if he’s good to you, even better.”

Another commenter sympathized with Cavallari for being open despite the judgement surrounding her personal life. “Damn no wonder she doesn’t post anything personal, people have SO much to say for no reason,” the commenter shared. “She’s happy, leave it at that! 🖤”

As far as age concerns go, People’s source also hinted that Estes is mature and meshes well with Cavallari, despite their 13-year age gap. “They’re really happy together. He’s been so great to her and is just a really nice guy,” the insider explained. “He’s not your typical 24 year old. She’s having a great time and is living her best life with him.” The source also noted that the couple—who originally connected via “social media”—decided to keep their relationship under wraps until they made things official. “They’re serious enough now that they were ready to go public,” the source said.

News of Cavallari’s relationship comes nearly four years after her messy public divorce from Jay Cutler. The pair, who were married for seven years before calling it quits, share sons Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and daughter Saylor, 4. Following their split, Cavallari was linked to a few short-lived romances—including dating comedian Jeff Dye and country singer Chase Rice—but ultimately, she revealed to E! News in June 2023 that dating was “really not important” to her.

“I’ve had a lot of fun in the last few years, just really focusing on my friends and getting to hang out with my friends again, because I didn’t get to do that for a long time,” she explained. “Really, when you’re having little babies and three babies, essentially, at one point in time, that was my world. And so it’s been nice to just have fun again.”
