Today in Y2K-fashion-revival moments, Kristen Stewart was pictured in New York City wearing the slinkiest mesh halter top since Keira Knightley’s in Bend It Like Beckham. The actor was spotted in the all-black ensemble on March 11, ahead of her appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Stewart's barely there halter secures with three string ties, but is otherwise completely open in the back. The front of the top has what appears to be beaded chains over a sheer fabric that just subtly frees the nipple. She paired it with a black maxiskirt that featured a slit in the back, revealing her sheer black knee-highs and strappy peep-toe stilettos.

To complete her effortlessly cool look, Stewart, her hair thrown up into a messy high ponytail, added a quilted Chanel box handbag and black sunglasses.

Kristen Stewart has been chicly pushing the envelope a lot lately, from the itsy-bitsy bodysuit she wore on the red carpet on March 5 to her bra-and-boxers look on March 9. On The Late Show she addressed another one of her more risqué fashion moments of late: her jockstrap cover shoot for Rolling Stone. Asked why she thought the cover was apparently so controversial, she responded, “I think there's a certain overt acknowledgment of a female sexuality that has its own volition that is annoying for people who are sexist and homophobic.” To all of those people, Stewart added, “But fuck you.”
