Kristen Stewart Wore a Sheer Bralette and Shorts at a Pre-Oscars Chanel Dinner

See what more A-listers, from Margot Robbie to Usher, wore for the fabulous event.

For Kristen Stewart, sheer and Chanel go hand-in-hand. Nearly a year after making jaws drop in a see-through Chanel dress at the Berlin Film Festival, the Love Lies Bleeding star was at it again at the Chanel and Charles Finch 15th annual pre-Oscar dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday night.

This time around, the Chanel ambassador went rock-chic in a black-andwhite sheer Chanel bralette topped with an unbuttoned black sheer blouse from the fashion house’s spring-summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Stewart finished the look with white Chanel cotton canvas shorts and black ankle booties, and struck a few fierce poses before heading inside the Polo Lounge for the cocktail hour. But, she wasn’t the only one who turned heads on the carpet on Oscars eve.

Usher served up Chanel with a western edge, sporting leather and denim pants with a bold silver belt. His statement black-and-white houndstooth coat also stole the show, which topped a silk black blouse that he adorned with 18K white gold and diamond necklaces.

Before leaving the carpet, he posed with his new wife, Jenn Goicoechea, who complimented his look in a tweed Chanel jacket, a black onesie topped with gold necklaces, plus sunglasses that coordinated with Usher’s shades.

As for other standout looks from the night, Margot Robbie wore an outfit that screamed Barbie. Her black iridescent Chanel silk velvet jacket was adorned with feathers and she paired it with a matching skirt and Coco Crush earrings.

Alexandra Shipp also brought on the Barbie-inspo energy in a pink, navy, and white fantasy tweed jacket that flashed her midriff. She paired the jacket with a matching skirt and a quilted white Chanel bag.  “What I love about Chanel is the authenticity and consistency,” Shipp told us at the event. “Nothing that comes out of Chanel is mediocre [and it has been that way] throughout the decades.”

Kerry Washington also stunned in a look we want in our closets right. She wore a black-and-white Chanel logo top with a black and red striped leather skirt.

We were also obsessed with America Ferrera’s glitzy Chanel bag, which the Oscar nominee paired with a silk Chanel black blouse and black wool pants. Tessa Thompson’s lace-up leather blouse and matching pants and Phoebe Tonkin’s whimsical black-and white-silk muslin tunic also caught our eyes.

Inside of the intimate cocktail hour, guests mixed, mingled, and sipped champagne and cocktails. Shipp chatted up David Oyelowo, Stewart sipped champagne with friends, and Usher flashed his megawatt smile as he caught up with the crowd before taking his seat inside the dinner at a table with Robbie.

Olivia Munn, Lily-Rose Depp, Daniel Kaluuya, Chloë Sevigny. and Oscar nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph also snagged an invite to Chanel’s pre-Oscar dinner and mingled during the cocktail hour. The fête is one of most coveted invites of Oscar week and always the quintessential kickoff to the grand finale of awards season.
