Kristen Stewart Is "Very, Very Happy" That Robert Pattinson Is the Next Batman
Kristen Stewart is thrilled that her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson will be the next Batman.
She told a reporter, "I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part."
Superhero movies are clearly here to stay, with the characters recast/reimagined and the stories rewritten as long as studios think that they can make some money out of it (or at least that's my hot take on the situation, 'cause there are so many superhero movies). And one of the upcoming remakes will be The Batman, out in 2021, which will star none other than Twilight leading man Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.
Some people understandably thought that it was kind of a weird casting—after all, Rob spent most of his post-Twilight years talking about how much he hated being in the blockbuster and has since turned to smaller/more indie movies, like an upcoming horror film where he plays a creepy lighthouse operator who punches an octopus. But you know who thinks that Rob is actually the perfect actor to play Batman? His ex Kristen Stewart.
While at the TIFF film festival this weekend, she spoke about Rob's new role with Variety, saying, "I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part. I'm so happy for him. It's crazy. I'm very, very happy about that. I heard that and I was like, 'Oh man!' It's awesome."
And how sweet it is that Kristen is still so supportive of her ex? Last summer, the two were photographed together for the first time in like five years, so it seems as though they've stayed friends. I'm just hoping that Rob's version of Batman is successful enough to have a sequel that stars Kristen as a villain, because how amazing would that be?!?
